Affiliate marketing can be a good way to start your own home business and earning money online, because it is not difficult to begin doing, allows you to work at your own pace and can be highly fiscally rewarding. Although it seems to be counter-intuitive, the affiliate is not the person who is supposed to be doing the selling. This is how sales happen or don’t happen. Suppose a visitor to your site reads your sales pitch, clicks your affiliate link, and then is hit on the very next website with yet another sales pitch. Do you think he/she will make a purchase? It is not likely. To prevent this from happening, you need to use your site to pre-sell your affiliate product, not sell it. Your job as an affiliate marketer is to interest your prospects and send them directly to the actual sales page, not sell the product. Your site should recommend things rather than try to sell them, you want to offer enough content to maintain the attention of each visitor, but not seem like an advertising page, more a source of information giving customers the right advice for the right products such as the Cash System X. Over Advertising
Anytime a person over advertises or uses extreme forms of advertising on his/her website, it does more harm than good. If all your site does is advertise, it will not have the personal touch it would have if you filled it with quality content. According to recent studies, visitors coming to a website want to learn something new and don’t want to have a feeling that they wasted their time. People are not looking to be sold to, they are looking for recommendations. You should be sure to have plenty of informative content on your sites, with subtle advertisements interwoven. You want to do your best to have a balance of both advertisements and content. This will result in increased credibility with your visitors. Plus, search engines will rank you higher, which will increase your search engine results and drive more traffic to your site.

Another very common mistake made by affiliates it the type of promotion method or promotion material they decide to utilize. Many don’t even write their own ads. It is a fact that many affiliates simply use the ads provided to them by the merchant. As a result, they’re just showing a lack of effort and not setting themselves apart. It’s not that the ready-made ads are not well done and adequate. However, when everyone uses the same ads, how can anyone be seen? And that decreases the chances of anyone deciding to buy through your ad, which translates to infrequent sales. So using ready-made but all- too-common promotional material is the second pitfall encountered by associates, and is one you will want to stay out of in your business.
Failing To Track Conversions
As an affiliate, you need to know what product is converting and what is not. If you are not going to track your conversions, you are leaving a lot of money on the table. This is especially true if you use PPC to promote your products. By tracking conversions you are able to turn losses into profits. You should try and determine why it is not getting the attention you want, perhaps the advertising page is not optimized correctly or there is not enough content to entice customers, you can make changes but if none of it works it is time to drop that particular product. You should never make the error of staying with a product which is not converting. It is vital that you are willing to quickly change products.
You should go for an affiliate product that gives you at least a 50% in commissions and put your every effort to promote it the right way. The best approach is to go steadily instead of rushing; this will ensure that you earn more money over the long term.
